Spiking their Interest

Bigelow Laboratory REU students Opshory Choudhury and Judah Gradie visited Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute in Massachusetts to pick up a sea urchin cell line for their summer projects.

During their visit, they met with the GMGI team to learn firsthand how to culture, passage, count, and maintain the urchin cells.

Along with new knowledge from the lab, our students left with 25 million urchin cells to get them started.

Thank you, GMGI, for your partnership and for being a supportive spine of undergraduate research!
