On Thursday afternoon, Bigelow Laboratory hosted its annual picnic at Newagen Seaside Inn, encouraging our team to savor the splendors of coastal Maine.
Employees, board members, family, and beloved friends enjoyed a traditional Maine lobster bake overlooking the ocean. The afternoon included mingling around picnic tables, sharing good-natured laughter, and competing in lawn games. While the meal was perfectly delicious, though, it played second fiddle to the sense of tight-knit community and connectedness that have become hallmarks of our institution.
To all the hard-working, inspiring Bigelowians and generous board members who go above and beyond to make our institution shine: thank you. Discovery and innovation happen because of your commitment to ocean science, and it was a delight celebrating you!
