We were thrilled to welcome our community to Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences this afternoon for an open house celebrating the wonders of microbial ocean science.
Guests explored our marine algae collection, got a behind-the-scenes look at how our scientists conduct their work, and enjoyed hands-on activities like rainbow sediment coring and plankton races.

President and CEO Deb Bronk also shared an inspiring presentation on 250 years of science and the lasting impact of scientific discovery on society.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, asked thoughtful questions, and helped make the day so memorable. We’re grateful for the opportunity to open our doors, share our research, and celebrate the curiosity that brings our community together!
