Thank you to the nearly 200 people who joined us in the Bigelow Laboratory forum yesterday for the first Café Sci of the season to explore the chilly waters surrounding Antarctica!
We’re so grateful to Dr. Ben Twining, who shared his experience on a research cruise to the Southern Ocean this winter to better understand the sources and functions of trace metals in this unique environment.
Ben’s talk was so immersive, we felt like we were scoring in a game of Rounders, jogging past seals, analyzing phytoplankton, collecting water samples, and, of course, sneaking candy bars from the well-stocked research vessel.
