This week, the Global Ocean Accounts Partnership (GOAP) announced Bigelow Laboratory as the network’s newest member.
“Bigelow Laboratory is thrilled to be a part of GOAP and the community working to transcend political boundaries to build a sustainable blue economy that will help us tackle today’s global challenges,” said President and CEO Deborah Bronk.
Membership is a strong fit for Bigelow Laboratory. One of GOAP’s primary goals is to transform fragmented ocean data into actionable insights that strengthen policy, guide investment, and embed sustainability into planning and decision-making. Our institution enthusiastically supports efforts to grow Maine’s blue economy. Our researchers have decades of ocean forecasting expertise, and we recently took ownership of the National Ocean Economics Program, which provides accessible and broadly relevant economic and social information about U.S. ocean and coastal zones.
Bigelow Laboratory is excited to collaborate with more than 50 GOAP members already working to advance ocean accounting worldwide. We can’t wait to make waves together!
