This #FlashbackFriday, we’re jumping back exactly one month to relive Ocean Day at the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library! 🌊
Bigelowians Vishaan Nursey, research associate, and Lydia Pinard, research technician, helmed the lab’s table during the event, which featured a postcard station with microalgae, seaweed, and phytoplankton stamps, stickers, and educational resources.
The Bigelow Laboratory team also led an interactive plankton racing activity designed to model the daily vertical migration of zooplankton. Youth constructed their own plankton using clay, pipe cleaners, and other materials before releasing their creations in a container of water to see how long it took them to reach the bottom.
