Last week, Bigelow Laboratory Director of Education Aislyn Keyes attended the Green Jobs Fair hosted by the Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District in Dover-Foxcroft.
The event introduced middle school students to careers in the natural resource sector. Bigelow Laboratory was proud to be one of 27 Maine businesses and organizations that took part.
Aislyn spoke with students about ocean science and how the field extends beyond the coastline to impact inland areas like Piscataquis County. She also shared information about the lab’s education programs, including Keller BLOOM for high school students, and introduced them to a bunch of energetic zooplankton on the microscope screen.
