Steidinger Marine Harmful Algae Taxonomy Training Course<\/a><\/strong> offers an opportunity to build essential identification skills at the species level.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Led by experts, this intensive 10-day course at <strong>Bigelow Laboratory <\/strong>combines theoretical and hands-on training in identifying harmful algae found in U.S. marine waters, with a focus on light microscopy and familiarity with alternate identification methods.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants will gain experience with:<br>-Over 60 HAB species<br>-Live and preserved specimens<br>-Collection, sample treatment, and enumeration methods<br>-Culturing techniques and newer HAB identification methodologies<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2026 course will take place August 9\u201321 (inclusive of travel days).
