class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Researchers at\u00a0<strong>Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences<\/strong> in collaboration with\u00a0the <strong>Food and Agriculture Organization<\/strong> of the United Nations are using global <strong>datasets<\/strong> and <strong>predictive maps<\/strong> to track down potential hotspots for <strong>fish-killing blooms<\/strong> in parts of the ocean where monitoring data are scarce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Harmful algal blooms<\/strong> pose a growing threat to <strong>coastal communities<\/strong>, <strong>fisheries<\/strong>, and <strong>marine ecosystems<\/strong>.
