What happens beneath the seafloor<\/strong> where life survives on almost no energy? Thank you to everyone who joined us at Bigelow Laboratory<\/strong> this week for the second Caf\u00e9 Sci<\/strong> talk to find out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are incredibly grateful to SRS Melody Lindsay<\/strong>, who took us on a fascinating journey from the depths of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge<\/strong> back to the Gulf of Maine<\/strong>. Along the way, she explained how microbes survive in some of the most extreme and inaccessible environments, how scientists access this life, and what microbial DNA<\/strong> from here on Earth can tell us about potential life on other planets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
