Bigelow’s Blue Biotech Bulletin: July 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In March, Bigelow Laboratory<\/strong> and Hatch Blue<\/strong> co-hosted the first North Atlantic Blue BioTech Summit<\/strong> in Portland, Maine. The summit marked the culmination of the Maine Blue Biotech Studio<\/strong> hosted at our campus in East Boothbay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bringing together more than 200 investors, corporate leaders, supply chain representatives, scientists, entrepreneurs, and policymakers, the summit opened up new conversations and relationships for turning world-class ocean research into high-value products, businesses, and jobs that strengthen coastal and rural communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Sept. 30 – Oct. 2<\/strong> in Portland<\/strong>, Bigelow Laboratory is proud to co-organize Maine Blue Economy Week<\/strong>, a three-day event that advances Maine\u2019s ocean and coastal economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, industry leaders, students, policymakers, and partners will come together to explore marine innovation, workforce development, investment, and sustainable growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees will hear from industry and research leaders, learn about emerging companies<\/strong> and technologies<\/strong>, explore funding<\/strong> and commercialization pathways<\/strong>, connect with potential collaborators<\/strong>, and experience Maine\u2019s ocean economy<\/strong> through organized field trips and tours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bigelow Laboratory is partnering with Gulf of Maine Research Institute, University of Maine, and The Roux Institute at Northeastern University to present this event. Major supporters include Maine Department of Economic and Community Development and Maine Technology Institute.<\/p>\n<\/div>
