class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A team of researchers including&nbsp;<strong>Bigelow Laboratory SRS<\/strong> <strong>Steve Archer<\/strong> is exploring the ecosystem impacts of a proposed <strong>marine carbon dioxide removal strategy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ocean alkalinity enhancement<\/strong> (OAE) is sometimes described as an antacid for the ocean \u2014 but trade a chalky, chewable tablet for crushed-up minerals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OAE aims to amplify natural processes that increase the ocean\u2019s capacity to <strong>absorb carbon dioxide<\/strong> while also helping <strong>counter ocean acidification.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet questions remain about this proposed solution and its potential impacts.
