Additionally, during the 2026 BioME Annual Conference<\/strong> on October 14, Vice President for Research Beth Orcutt<\/strong> participated in a panel titled Beyond the Data: Innovation Driving Maine\u2019s Life Sciences<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The panel explored developments, ideas, investments, and collaborations that are shaping the future of life sciences in Maine.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Members of the Maine Algal Research Infrastructure and Accelerator<\/strong> project attended the Algae Biomass Association\u2019s Algae Biomass Summit<\/strong> in Tempe, Arizona. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SRS Manoj Kamalanathan<\/strong> participated in a panel titled The Potential of Algae<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, colleagues including Associate Curator Kristin Heidenreich<\/strong>, Project Administrator Sarah Meyers<\/strong>, and Senior Research Scientist Mike Lomas<\/strong> staffed the institute\u2019s booth and networked during the event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team also toured the Arizona Center for Algae Technology<\/strong> for a behind-the-scenes look at algal innovation.<\/p>\n<\/div>

VPR Beth Orcutt<\/strong> also participated in a Maine Tech Week<\/strong> panel titled Where Ocean Meets Innovation<\/strong> that explored how technology, science, and entrepreneurship are reshaping Maine\u2019s working waterfront and blue economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beth was joined by colleagues from Maine Technology Institute<\/strong>, Blue Innovation Labs<\/strong>, Gulf of Maine Research Institute<\/strong>, and BlueSonde<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>
