Since 2024, Bigelow Laboratory has hosted annual meetings of the Maine Marine Science Consortium, a network of institutional leaders, researchers, resource managers, and entrepreneurs working together to advance ocean science for Maine. Earlier this month, we hosted the third annual meeting of the consortium.
There was discussion about priorities — from education to innovation—, brainstorming sessions about how to leverage shared resources and coordinate activities, and talks about state advocacy. There was even a little time to celebrate some recent policy wins, thanks in part to the efforts of executives like our own Deb Bronk and the whole Maine Ocean Leaders Team.
To close out the night, there was an employee mixer to help get to know like-minded people at partner organizations.
