
Known for being one of the fattiest copepods, Calanus are a great snack (a favorite in fact!) for whales, baby lobsters, and many other ocean creatures that we love here in the Gulf of Maine.
SRS Karen Stamieszkin, Research Associate Farley Miller, and visiting student Reyes Martín Rodríguez collected these tiny but mighty copepods during a net tow from the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences dock this spring.
